Myron Vovk

Myron Vovk  is the candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, the professor of the Department of Pedagogy of Primary Education. In 1971 he graduated from the Music Department of the Ivano-Frankivsk State Pedagogical Institute named after Vasyl Stefanyk. He worked as a teacher of music disciplines at the Zaporizhzhia Pedagogical School, where his teaching and music-creative activity began.

   In 1976 he took a course on the position of a teacher of the chair of the theory of music history and playing musical instruments at the Ivano-Frankivsk State Pedagogical Institute named after Vasyl Stefanyk.

   In 1983 he defended his dissertation on the theme “Independent Music Activity of Junior Pupils”, specialty13.00.01- theory and history of pedagogy and was sent by the Ministry of Education to the position of the head of the department of artistic disciplines at the Berdiansk State Pedagogical Institute named after Polina Osypenko. In 1984 he received the title of associate professor

   From 1988 he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Artistic Disciplines of the Precarpathian National University named after V. Stefanyk, and since 2005 he has been the Head of the Department.He has extensive scientific and practical experience in the field of training scientific and pedagogical staff and musical development of future primary education teachers.

Under his leadership, 6 candidates of pedagogical sciences were trained and defended, at speciality 13.00.04-theory and methodology of vocational education..       There are more than 140 scientific papers in Vovk’s scientific work. Including: 8 scientific manuals and textbooks under the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 2 textbooks and 3 monographs.

    For his fruitful work as a scientist and teacher, in 2012 M.V.Vovk  was awarded the title of the Professor of the Department of Arts, and in 2015, for many years of scientific and pedagogical work and public activity, was awarded an honorary diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and awarded the title “Honored Worker of Education and Science of Ukraine “.

    For more than 14 years professor Vovk M.V.has headed the Department of Artistic Disciplines and brought it to a high scientific and educational-methodical level. Under his arm seven artistic and creative groups, led by teachers of the departmental-choral, instrumental and choreographic directions functioned.

   Vovk M.V.is working on the study of Ukrainian music ethnopedagogy. He has published fundamental works: “Fundamentals of Ukrainian music ethnopedagogy”, “Functioning and development of music ethnopedagogy”, and “Musical ethnopedagogy in the context of creative development of Ukrainians”. He also studies the scientific problems in history of the Ukrainian music and  musical  psychology. He provides guidance for master’s research.
