Mariia Oliiar is a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department of Primary Education Pedagogy. In 1979 graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philology, Vasyl Stefanyk State Pedagogical Institute, Ivano-Frankivsk. She worked as a teacher in kindergarten № 1 (Ivano-Frankivsk), a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature in Ivano-Frankivsk Secondary school № 1, in 1988 began teaching at the university.

     In 1993 she defended her PhD thesis on the subject “Educational and cognitive culture of primary school students” (based on the Ukrainian language), specialty 13.00.02 – teaching methodology (the Ukrainian language). In 1994 she was awarded the title of associate professor.

    In 2016 she defended her doctoral thesis on the theme “Theoretical and methodological foundations of formation of communicative and strategic competence of future primary school teachers”, specialty 13.00.02 – theory and methodology of teaching (Ukrainian), 13.00.04 – theory and methodology of vocational education.

   Mariia Oliiar is a member of the Academic Council and the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Pedagogical Faculty. She has extensive practical experience in the field of vocational training for future primary school teachers, in the composing of curricula and educational programs in the field of knowledge 01 Education / Pedagogy specialty 013 Primary education .

     Mariia Oliiar is the author of more than 130 scientific researchers on problems of formation of primary schoolchild’s personality and professional training of future teachers, published in professional domestic and foreign publications. She is the leader of the research topic “Personality development of primary school pupils in mountain environment terms” (state registration number 005 200 0113 U) international project “Mountain School. Condition. Problems. Development Prospects “, Acting Chief Editor of Scientific specialized edition on Pedagogical Science ” Mountain School of Ukrainian Carpaty “, is a scientific editor of a series of collective monographs and scientific and methodological manuals on topical problems of elementary education and professional formation of teachers, a member of editorial boards of scientific professional publications “Educational Space of Ukraine”, “Educational horizons”, which are included in the list of scientific professional publications of Ukraine in the field of pedagogical sciences.

    Mariia Oliiar is a member of the specialized scientific council D 20.051.01 of the Higher Educational Institution “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University”.

    As a scientist and a teacher Mariia Oliiar actively cooperates with the pedagogical community of Ukraine and abroad, is a participant, organizer and co-organizer of a number of international and all-Ukrainian conferences, scientific and methodological seminars on the development of primary and vocational teacher education, a participant of international educational projects.

  For active work in training pedagogical staff for educational establishments of Ukraine, she was repeatedly awarded the certificates of the Rectorate of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, the Department of Education, Science, Family, Youth and Sports of Ivano-Frankivsk.

    Scientific Degree: Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.

    Scientific activity: Mariia Oliiar works on problems of formation of communicative competence of future primary school teachers, communicative personality of future teachers, their value orientations, as well as development of communicative skills of primary school students, educational and cognitive culture of elementary school students.

     Educational activities:

provides teaching the following courses : “Current problems of primary education”, “Communicative Pedagogy”, “Basic Education with the entry to the profession”, “Didactics”, “Theory and Methodology of Education”, “Teaching Management”.

 Supervises master’s works. Head of the student scientific group “Formation of communicative competence of primary school students”
